This is a story that warns of what may become of humanity and our only home if we don’t change our ways and values. At the same time, it is also a story of survival, reflection, and possibilities for different futures. Despite the hardships, blood-sheds and the constant antagonism between Nomad and Harvester survivors in the book, the author projects a hopeful message for future generations. Readers are left with the impression that new beginnings are still possible.

The idea of this book was born sometime in-between the author’s backpacking trips through South Africa, Peru and Nepal. As he climbed the high mountains and hiked through the jungles, he was reminded not only of the beauty of our planet but also of the deep interdependence off all living and non-living things. Not only is this book drawing on the author’s extensive traveling experiences and time spent in nature but it is also informed by his education and professional experiences in the environmental field.
