Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written for Kensington Books, Harlequin Books, and some smaller publishing houses in the UK and Canada. I find inspiration during my walks in the woods with my standard poodle. Where I live it is an easy walk to the ocean where we often see seals, sea otters, bald eagles and the odd cruise ship heading to or from Alaska. Inspiring, right?

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My newest book is Loving Logan, Return to Welcome Book 2. This one was a challenge (most of mine are) to write because I like to write about different types of heroines.
Elle Foster was once a bad girl…now, she’s a woman with four children and no man in her life. She’s forced to return home and face the judgment of the locals who remember her from her wild days.
I asked on FB one day if people would want to read about a woman with so many children…and my conflict was born! Some readers thought there were too many dads, (but wanted to see how I could pull it off) and others said, “Heck yeah…I’m one of those women.”
When I realized the perfect man would be one who wanted to be a father to his own child I knew I had to find a way to bring them together.
Like I said, Loving Logan was a challenge! But well worth it, I think.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When I get stuck on a scene, I will often turn to water to help me through. I shower, or wash dishes by hand, or water plants…or do laundry! I’ve done this for years and now I just get up and do it without arguing with myself.
I think the water soothes and opens my mind. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Call of the Wild by Jack London was a childhood favorite. He brought adventure to my reading. Later, I consumed Harlequin romances in order to figure out what kind of story I wanted to write. And then I read Linda Howard and knew I wanted to write quirky heroines who were strong.
What are you working on now?
My next release will be Diamond at Heart, a sexy novella that has a hint of romantic suspense. It should be available before the end of the summer…unless it’s not.
I’m picky about making the book as good as it can be so until I’m on my fourth draft I don’t decide on a release date. For me, it makes promotion harder, but the book’s not rushed.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m happy with the results I get from online book marketing, like newsletters, blogs etc. like Pretty-Hot.com
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you know. Don’t write books because you think it’s where the market is, write books you’d love to read.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I assume you’re asking about writing advice (because my mom gave me great child-rearing advice). It’s try to think about your book every day if you can’t write every day. That way the story will never go cold and when you’re able to get back to writing, it will be fresh.
What are you reading now?
The newest Paladin book from Alexis Morgan: In Darkness Transformed. It’s been a long, long wait but I’m enjoying the book tremendously. I love her Paladins!
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan on more books for my Return to Welcome series. The next is Craving Jake where Brianna, a friend of the two previous heroines finds her first love is not the man she expected him to be. Tsk, tsk…
I’m plotting and planning Craving Jake right now!
What is your favorite book of all time?
Impossible to answer. But the books I’ve re-read most often are written by Elizabeth Hoyt. Her Maiden Lane series is wonderful and every time I reread them I learn something more about the craft of storytelling.
