Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a professional ghostwriter and author of several women’s fiction and contemporary romance books, of which 8 have been published.
I love supporting other authors, and feature them on my blog, The Beautifully Inspired Blog, each Friday. I’m also a contributing writer at LiyahAmore Publishing.
I hold an MBA in Human Resource Management, which I put to use by day, while I craft fiction novels by night.
I reside in a suburb of my hometown, Atlanta, GA, with my husband and two of my three children. I enjoy writing, family time, reading, and watching NBA games in my spare time.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
A Woman’s Design: Afflictions is the most recent release.
My husband and I had a conversation about how often women make decisions based on a past mistake, or present circumstance, and find ourselves struggling with the repercussions of those choices years down the line.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so. I love snacking and having something good to drink while I write. And of course, I absolutely have to have my music playing in my headset to keep me relaxed.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I would say I’ve been most influenced by Terry McMillan and perhaps Tia Kelly.
What are you working on now?
I have three books waiting to go to the editor, one of which is the sequel to my previous novel. This book is entitled, A Woman’s Design: Redemption.
I’m actually writing a book that I don’t have a title to yet, but it’s a love story about two unlikely friends falling in love.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I haven’t tried many of them in the past, and I’m opening myself up to learning about new ones. However, the one that I always go back to has been eReader News Today.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Believe in your craft, don’t fall into the trap of what’s trending, because your readers can tell when you’ve stepped out of your gift. Most important, make sure that you have your work professionally edited and have a cover designer for that book cover.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Believe in “Who” I say I believe in and stay true to myself. Those both came from my husband. 🙂
What are you reading now?
Say That You Love Me, by Sheena Binkley
What’s next for you as a writer?
Expanding my ghostwriting services and stepping my toes further into the playwriting industry.
What is your favorite book of all time?
There’s so many it’s hard to choose just one…
