Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve published two books this year and am currently writing the third book of the series. I started as a beta reader and proofreader and started writing about three years ago. My first book has not been completed mainly because this group of friends started talking to me. I never inspired to be an author, but my other author friends that I worked with continued to encourage me to complete it. Once I published “Finding Patience”, her best friends came out and wanted their stories told. Bradley’s book “Finding Us” was the book I felt like I was meant to write. It took only a few months to complete. After I finish the last book, “Finding Forever”, I plan to go back and complete that first book I never finished.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Finding Us” was just published July 31st. I’ve always been inspired by individuals who are strong enough to walk a different path. When Bradley came to life in my first book, his story just flowed out of me. I always believed that you could love more than one person at a time, and what girl doesn’t think about being pampered by two guys… honestly. I also love shy and meek men who come out of their shell and end up surprisingly being the strong ones. This is Bruce and I fell in love with him and his part of this story.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to just sit down and write. I have to have the TV on, but it can’t be loud and is usually on the ID channel (No clue why). I can’t write with music on, I tend to stop writing to sing along.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Nicole Edwards is amazing, she’s one that made me believe I could tell Bradley’s story and it would be accepted. One of my closest friends, Brook Greene is an inspiration by her love and support and push to make me write. There are so many more, that it would take up the rest of this entry to list.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on the last book of the Finding series, “Finding Forever. This is the last of the three friends introduced in the first book, “Finding Patience”.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still trying to figure this all out. I use Facebook for the most part and Instagram. This website was recommended to me and I plan to continue to use this and look for more like this.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Being new myself, I say to never give up. The indie community is wonderful. Don’t stop networking. Get to know other authors and share their work as much as you can. They will do the same for you.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Take a chance and never stop dreaming. Even if you don’t sell a lot of books, you’ve accomplished something.
What are you reading now?
I just finished “Thick” by Scott Hildreth. It doesn’t matter what I’m writing or reading, when that man releases a book, I one click and read it in one setting.
What’s next for you as a writer?
After I finish this series, I really want to finish that first book I never finished. I have a few signings that I will be attending as an assistant and in 2018 I have my first scheduled signing as an author.
What is your favorite book of all time?
This is a hard one. I’ve read “The Stand” about 3 times and “Pride and Prejudice” a few times. My reading covers just about all genres.
