Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi. I’m Dana Wright and I write paranormal romance. So far, I’ve written three novella length works and have been involved in several anthologies.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Asylum was the latest book released-on Halloween of 2015. It was inspired by my love of ghost stories and in particular old asylums.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No. I don’t think so. I like to write in my bedroom where I have a large pine table covered in books, my computer, a stash of chocolate for inspiration and coffee, tea or water.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Kim Harrison, Anne Rice and Ray Bradbury just to name a few. Ray Bradbury in particular had a saying that went to the tune of-write a short story a week and sooner or later you won’t be terrible. I aspire.
What are you working on now?
I am working on a story called The Sugar Paw Bakery. It is a romance inspired by my love of dogs.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have used Facebook extensively and am just now branching out into Twitter and your site. I’m excited to see how it goes.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Only you can advocate for you when it comes time for pen to hit paper or fingers to touch the keys.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write every day.
What are you reading now?
A whole stack of things. J.S. Harper (Jeanne Stein) has a new series about Sirens and I am starting to explore that.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I write under a pen name and work full time so I am working toward the goal of writing a long enough piece to submit to an agent and see where that takes me.
What is your favorite book of all time?
The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury
