Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a blogger and entrepreneur by day and a world traveling Sancerre drinker by night. To date, I’ve published four books. Three of them are self hosted.
After much cajoling, I’m finally distributing my work to the wider world.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Get Your First 10,000 Instagram Followers Like a Boss was inspired by my work with clients to grow their Instagram accounts and make unexpected returns.
I knew the information I gained from being in the trenches would be useful to both entrepreneurs and enterprising individuals.
I started writing the book and couldn’t stop until it was finished. What you get when you purchase the book is an end to end guide that gives you the most important insights while leaving out the fluff.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My most unusual writing habit is getting 750 words on paper before I do anything else. I mean that literally. I use an app called 750words.com or a legal pad to free write every single morning.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are so many.
Let me list five of the top of my head.
The War of Art.
Zero to One.
The Emyth Revisited.
Hey Whipple Squeeze This.
The Slight Edge.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on three projects. I know, I shouldn’t be multitasking.
The first one is a fashion lifestyle brand for people who identify as creative. It’s the brand I’d want to pick up in the store or order offline.
I’m working on the next installment in the Like a Boss Series.
I’m working on a fiction book that’s taking me through western and southern Africa for research. It’s a lot of fun and I can’t wait until I finish gathering all the information I need so I’ll start writing in earnest.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The best method is to carry my list along with the creation process. I let them know about my table of contents, my frustrations, and they even get to pick the book cover.
In the end, when it’s time to launch, they have a vested interest because they help me build the book from scratch.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Start promoting the book when it’s barely more than an outline on your desktop.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep writing.
I know, it sounds cliche. The person who told me is a someone I look up to more than anything.
Those words let me know I was onto something more than just a hobby.
What are you reading now?
The Gary Halbert Letters and Miracle Morning.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To keep publishing books that add value to my readers and try my hand at proper fiction.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Ah, this may be the hardest question ever. If you put a gun to my head and I had to answer, I’ll go with something from my childhood.
Then, it wasn’t about form and structure, and all the things I know now. It was about a good story.
With that being said, my favorite book is a series. The Dragon Riders of Pern.
