Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Over my entire 30+ years of writing, I must have written enough to put out quite a few books. However, I’ve published one Prequel; Sugar Whipped to the trilogy I am so very proud of. The sequel “Poppy Hollow and Final book, “Welcome To The Six” were indie published as per my own decision. I like doing things my way. (If it’s not obvious enough) 8 years as the Head Mistress and Madam of an infamous Texas Dungeon taught me way more that counting greenbacks and working a switch. I learned so many of the life lessons, most of them hard ones that made me who I am today. I’m honest, I’m caring and I have finally found my calling in life. Writing.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The book I am here to tell you about is “Poppy Hollow.” The sequel to Sugar Whipped is one you won’t surely forget. It’s raw and blunt and full of surprises. It’s real life that fell on top of me all at once and brought me to my knees, leaving me with only one option, to get back up. And that’s exactly what I did. I clawed my way out of the hole I’d dug myself into. Through addiction, through real life struggles and every day woes. My self inflicted emotional pain and motivation to get to a better place is what inspired the whole trilogy.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes. I tent to just begin jotting stuff down randomly. I could be in the middle of a convo or wake up from a dream and just start writing or doodling what’s floating across my mind. So don’t take offense to it if we are having a conversation and I pull out a pen and pad and begin jotting down ideas on how to escape a ninja in a yogurt shop. Yes. That random.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Many have. But mostly just my want and NEED to write was enough to influence me to write this trilogy. I turned 72 journals into three 300+ page books. Compressing 8+ years of my fast paced life into a little over 900 pages of true and documented events.
What are you working on now?
Right now I am re-editing the final book “Welcome to the Six.” I found a few alternate endings that I wanted to try out. I also found many mistakes. Sometimes we writers type faster than we think. We think faster than we talk and sometimes we make no sense. So I’m doing my honest best to make sense of the most difficult piece to write thus far. The ending to the trilogy, Welcome to the Six. A psychological and erotica filled romance brimmed memoir that will penetrate your thoughts and cling on to your hear strings.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I found that Twitter and live promos work best for me. I interact as much as time allows on twitter with my readers and I try to meet up as often as I can with fans even if it’s just to grab a cup of coffee and talk about the trilogy.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I do! And that is to NOT give up! Don’t give up NO MATTER what! There will be PLENTY of times you are going to want to just slam your laptop on the floor or throw your tablet through a window. There will be people who judge you or even those who are only around to see if you succeed or fail. Prove them wrong and go for it! Leave a little something about yourself for the World to enjoy long after you are gone!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“I would rather have 50 percent of something than 100 percent of nothing.” It speaks to me. It speaks for itself because it’s true.
What are you reading now?
I’ve been reading short stories quite a bit. Novelettes if you will. I plan on writing a few fun ones of my own soon.
What’s next for you as a writer?
As I said before, I’m interested in writing a few short stories for a couple people that have requested them. I find it an honor to have such requests. It’s not how big your fan base is, it’s how much you inspire the ones that truly seek inspiration in you.
What is your favorite book of all time?
I could NEVER give you an answer for this question! Lol
