Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live in the south, in a beautiful small town where i always run into someone I know when I’m out and about. After growing up in a large city in California, I love this!
I have written over 30 books and as if right now, the list will continue to grow!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Jaded: Luke, which is about a guy that loses everything after a tour in the middle east with the army. He goes home to Laurel Creek, Montana in hopes of finding the elusive peace within.
I was inspired by the guys I worked with that deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. I was a military contractor when we went to war against terror.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Is it unusual that I wear the same hoodie every day? Or that I write in a completely silent house? Nah!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
So many authors are my heroes. I will however name Beatrice Small for being the one who opened my eyes to the romance genre.
What are you working on now?
I am currently writing a bride book for my Brides for All Seasons series and then will head back to Laurel Creek to write the second book! So excited to tell everyone Taylor’s story!!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Visit my Amazon page! I also am always pimping my books on my Facebook author page. Author Hildie McQueen
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write the next book and don’t compare yourself to others. Stay in your lane focused on your goals and writing the best book you can.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t follow the trends. Write what you love and what you know.
What are you reading now?
I just finished reading And Then She Was Gone by Christopher Greyson. I normally read outside my genres. It was good.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am challenging myself daily and the next thing for me is to focus this year on myself and ensuring I write books that make me proud. I am also embarking on a year of self-care, but taking on daily meditations for writers.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
