Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I worked in journalism for many years and then decided to write novels about the lives of ordinary people swept up in historic events. I have written three books, working on a fourth.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Hurricane Code is climate fiction set in the year 2099, based on actual science of global warming.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I generally write in the mornings.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Mark Twain, Tony Hillerman, Elmore Leonard, Ivan Doig and many more great authors and books.
What are you working on now?
A historical mystery set in Louisville, Kentucky in the year 1990.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Twitter and personal contact.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write about what moves you, harness the emotion that comes from sharing something significant.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep it simple.
