Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have spent to may years of my life not focusing on my passion – writing. But since a few years I now write every day. My world of writing is my island of happiness in the stormy sea called life.
I have written two books in swedish. The first one Three Days in September is translated to english. And my second book, the first in a crime serie, Playing with fire is soon translated into English.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is the first book, “Playing with fire”, in a serie of private investigator Gunvor Ström. The main character Gunvor Ström is my inspiration. She is in her mid sexties and have been a surgeon for most of her life. Until age and shaking hands forced her to stop. Still eager for life and refusing to be old she start working as a private investigator. Together with her companions David, a young man from the suburbs with a self-image of a looser, and Elin, a young woman who had spend her life feeling oppressed, she solve crimes in a dangerous game of life and death.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I guess my writing habits are pretty normal. I get up 5:30 most mornings to write. It is a bit hard when it is winter in Sweden and all dark outsside for hours ahead. But at the same time it gives a good space without distractions.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I admire a lot of different kind of authors but I can´t see that they influence my writing. I love “The Art of hearing Heratbeats” because the way Jean-Philipp Sendker builds up the story. And as well for the beautiful way of describing the meating of two different cultures and ways of relate to things.
For the same reason I like the books of Sadie Smith.
What are you working on now?
I am soon fininshed with my second book in the crime serie of Gunvvor Ström, “Till death do us part”.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
In Sweden it is a good thing, especially with e-books, to reach for the librarys because the tradition of borrowing books is established here.
Interviews like this are as well both fun and important for us writer.
