Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a mother, wife, and grandmother to three beautiful children. I am a Child Support Case Manager by day, a creative writer by night.
I wrote two children’s books, A Magical and Inspiring Story: A Boy Named Ray Book 1, and, A Magical and Inspiring Story: And Then There’s Haley Book 2. I am still working on the third and final book in the series, Kayla Makes Three.
I ventured into the wonderful world of Romance novels after reading my first romance book while at the doctor’s office. I wanted it to be an exciting, yet sweet series, concentrating more on the wanting and the conflict of getting there, hence, A Spoiled Brats Romance Novel book series was born.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My Runaway Bride, is the second book in the Spoiled Brats Book Series. It’s Sixteen Candles meet Gilmore Girls, just like my daughter said. The inspiration for the book has something to do with watching a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I get a lot of ideas during the day. For me, the best time to write is at night, right after I came home from work. I am definitely a night owl.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have to say Jennifer Crusie because her book, Maybe This Time, was the first romance novel I’ve read and it inspired me to write my very first romance novel, too. Her writing style was awesome.
What are you working on now?
I just finished writing a short story, Mrs. Millionaire. I just entered it to Writer’s Digest short short story competition less than 1500 words. Fingers crossed!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I joined about 30 book groups on Facebook. I also have twitter account, LinkedIn, Goodreads, and my own website. There are still so many, but I only signed up to what I can manage. Blogging is hard and takes time. I still need time to write.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
As I am also an aspiring author and still learning the ropes in publishing my work through self-publishing, research as much as you can. I have about ten binders sorted with book reviewers, book promotion and marketing, and other things.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t let rejection bring you down. Keep writing and don’t give up.
What are you reading now?
The Dryad’s Pawprint by Laura Greenwood.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Oh, I have so many.
I still need to finish the last book in A Magical and Inspiring Story. Four more novels in the Spoiled Brats Romance Novel are in the works. I also discovered writing short story and I liked it.
I also need to start working on promoting my old and new recently released book. 2017 is going to be tough for me.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Hans Christensen hands down.
