Medicinal herbs are gaining popularity because of the failure of allopathic herbs to deliver the beneficial health results, which everyone is seeking. This is not to say that allopathic medicine doesn’t work, but rather that it is not the panacea which we would all like to see. In reality restoring our health requires many different approaches, such as lifestyle and diet, but another great methodology is medicinal herbs. Dating back into antiquity, medicinal herbs can provide terrific relief from ill health and without the atrocious side effects, which often plague pharmaceutical medicines.
Herbal remedies either cure or greatly alleviate every condition under the sun including:
• Stomach aches
• Cold and flu’s
• Cardiac ill-health
• Liver health
• Cancerous growths
• General feelings of ill-health
• Mental-emotional ill-health
• Skin and hair conditions
In this book, part 3 of the series (the other two books been Herbs for Depression and Anxiety and Herbal Medicine), this book focused on an in-depth study of 8 top herbs for treating everyday health conditions. In my last book I covered a wider variety of herbs, but each herb was detailed as it related to treating certain conditions. While this provided a great how to guide, to treating specific health conditions, it left out the big picture as it related to every herb. So in this book I wanted to provide the reader with an in-depth look at the benefits of 8 top herbs, for everyday health and wellbeing. This I feel fills a gap within the last two books.
While it’s great to try out many great herbs, unless we get into the habit of using certain specific herbs, on a regular basis, it is unlikely that we shall really gain maximal benefit from them. While I endorse the many different herbs which were outlined in book 2 of this series (Herbal Medicine), I particularly advocate the deployment of the 8 herbs, covered in this book, as they are readily available and are extremely potent, although most people don’t realise just how potent they are, because they don’t know how best to use them!
• Do you know that honey can help reduce blood sugar levels!
• That ginger is a health tonic which can bring a person back from ill-health into blooming health!
• That garlic can prevent and to some degree even reverse symptoms of dementia!
• Those lemons can restore the Ph. Balance of the body, thus preventing the onset of inflammation and chronic ill-health, if taken regularly!
• That cinnamon is the most effective treatment for blood sugar control and that it increases insulin sensitivity 20 fold over any other compound!
• That cardamom protects both heart health and the body from cancerous tumours!
• That Apple Cider Vinegar will either cure or treat just about every condition under the Sun!
• That wheatgrass will oxygenate the blood and kick out every virus, fungus and unhealthy bacteria from your body!
This is just the tip of the iceberg!…..Take a detailed look into 8 great herbs with over 170 pages and 100 great benefits listed plus 89 clinical citations, to real scientific research, which backs up the punch which these medicinal herbs, for everyday health, can deliver with real research which confirms their potency!

I was born and raised in Ireland. I first took an interest in mental health back in the 1990’s when I studied psychoanalytic studies, hypnotherapy and clinical psychoanalytical psychotherapy. While I learned a great deal about the workings of the mind, at this time, my interest in healing encouraged me to attend classes in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, finally culminating in a clinical diploma in 2005.
Since then I have run a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medical) clinic for a considerable period of time and also I have taken to writing about a variety of topics.
I have learned, from experience, the importance of balance in the three key domains of our life, which are physical, mental-emotional and spiritual well-being. My approach to healing is infinitely practical and is based upon the need to balance each of these aspects of our life, in order to regain a balanced state.
Furthermore, I am interested in moving the western/eastern medical discourse forward. Believing in the virtue of both western (allopathic) and eastern (complimentary) healing systems, I am continually pushing for an integrated approach to healing. As the old saying goes “doctors differ, patients die!” demonstrates the need for everyone, who is interested in health and healing, to work together towards learning more about the causes of ill-health and the techniques of re-balancing health and reaching out in a humanistic way to help our patients regain their health.
As well as my interest in healing I possess an interest in spirituality too. In 1999 I began my meditation journey, in an Indian system of Raja Yoga, known as Sahaj Marg. With an ardent interest in spirituality as well as physical, mental and emotional healing, I am presently residing in India with my wife and son.
I have a website www.healbodymindandspirit.com where I write articles about these topics
Regarding this website, I set it up with the intention of helping to share my knowledge and my experiences in these three pillars of human existence, which are physical, mental-emotional and spiritual aspects of life. I don’t claim to be an ‘expert’ on every subject which I write about on this website, however, it is my intention to disseminate information which helps the visitors to this site, to make a better go at dealing with life challenges.
Also, this blog is a journey for me, as every time I research information in an effort to produce some site content, it forces me to think and explore and work on some of my concepts and lifestyle routines. So www.healbodymindandspirit.com is as much a journey as anything else.
Also, there are lots of great sites out there which talk about physical health or mental health or spiritual well-being, but no sites, which I know of anyway, which focus upon the integration of all three. And it seems obvious to me that to progress in life we need good health, and that to achieve anything we need the right mind-set and to possess peace of mind, we have to be spiritually connected. So this site is a work in progress and an attempt to be a part of this discourse, of this global dialogue of human beings in an effort to progress their lives.
So welcome aboard, and feel free to comment at any time, as I am always really interested in hearing from you, the visitors, about your feelings, comments and suggestions.
