Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My first book “Daniel’s 70th Week” was published under a former married name (Burgen) in 2007. I published my second book “Becoming Still A Journey With Yahweh” in October 2016. I love to write! I journal most days and often this turns into writing a story or even a prayer. I long to travel and explore this great country and meet people to learn of their stories. I have a passion to share my love of Christ with others. I also think it’s fun to metal detect and rock hound.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Becoming Still A Journey With Yahweh began in my journals. I kept seeing these unusual occurrences that could not be explained away as coincidences. The beautiful thing is – even after the book was written, the interesting events kept happening. They still happen. It’s amazing to me that the Creator of all things is presently active in our lives today!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write often and in varied places. I take me journal with me everywhere. I prefer to right by hand and only type the story once it is in a fairly good first draft.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I read most days, even if it’s just a little bit. I choose non-fiction books, mainly Christian based but have read others I like books that reflect on destiny, purpose, spiritual journey or faith walking. I have a Kindle and have a large number of books!
What are you working on now?
I am working on promoting my second book while I still journal. I know that my journals have at least two more books in them. At some point I have to get to organizing them!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I honestly don’t have a best method or website. I am still so new at promoting my books. I am in the process of creating some sort of methodology.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I would say: write, write, write. Don’t worry about getting it ‘right’ or having a book just pour out of you. Writing will awake the passion inside of you for what you were created to do.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Be Still and know that I am God – this is what Yahweh spoke to me long ago. It’s caused me to slow down and see how Holy Spirit is presently active in my life. No matter what trials come, He is with me and that is the greatest treasure of all.
What are you reading now?
Oh I never read just one book! I am usually reading the Bible (currently the NLT version). But I have opened and read (going back and forth): The Esther Anointing by Michelle McClain-Walters, and The Promise of the Seventh Day by Bruce D. Allen. I am always open to the Holy Spirit leading me to another book.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Write, write, write. Promote my current book. And hopefully soon start organizing the next book.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Well of course, the Bible. Besides that I enjoy all books relating to this spiritual journey of faith.
