Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Goddess is my first full-length novel. I have been writing short-stories and poetry since grade school.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Goddess was inspired by my Mother who encouraged me to write a book similar to 50 Shades of Grey when it started to go big in 2012. She told me, you can and must do this. I immediately thought I wanted to reverse the roles, I am tired of reading the same old, same old: man dominates woman, woman is subservient and compliant. As I wrote, the story began to tell itself and I simply rolled with it.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Once I get going, the ideas start to steamroll! Sometimes I am thinking of what will happen three to four chapters in advance.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I attempted to ride the line between E.L. James’ 50 Shades of Grey stories and The Sleeping Beauty trilogies by Anne Rice. I also read a few other Erotica and Erotic Romance novels to get the hang of how to present the material mainstream. I feel I have done a wonderful job at maintaining the balance between the two.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on my second installment to Goddess, Leila, which will pick up where Goddess left off and detail her new journey.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook, hands down.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just do it! The only thing holding you back is YOU!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Get it out there no matter who tries to drag you down. Haters will be haters and bad press is still…press.
What are you reading now?
A Good Marriage by Stephen King
What’s next for you as a writer?
I will be writing other genres to include a memoir of a personal tragedy that ended in the death of my only newborn son.
What is your favorite book of all time?
This is cheesy but I absolutely love Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls…still cry every time.
