Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello. I’ve been writing for about a year now and have self-published five Novels in a series of post apocalyptic fiction. “The Zournal” series has been fun to write and something I always wanted to do. It’s been well received and with that encouragement I am working on the 6th in the series now. I hope to have it done by the beginning of January and then I have a ton of other projects I’m excited to get started on.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
It’s the fifth in a series and is called “Feeling Lucky?” A good bit of the route the main characters take was based on the things my wife and I did on out last trip out to Vegas. Including a day trip out to the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Odd hours for it and very limited time as we have 5 children. 4 of whom are still living with us. Mostly because they’re like two years old and stuff 🙂
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I loved the SM Stirling Dies the Fire series. I like all the modern YA Fiction that is out there like the Harry Potters and Hunger Games. I originally grew up in a lighthouse reading guys like Tolkien and CS Lewis.
What are you working on now?
Book 6 of The Zournal. “The Final Countdown” I’m about halfway through it I think.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
So far I’m still trying to find that magic bullet!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write for the love of it. Edit well!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Get a proofreader!
What are you reading now?
Data sheets for my day job. Yuck././. Hence my segue into this interview.
What’s next for you as a writer?
When I was a kid I lived in a haunted lighthouse and I saw things. Pretty sure I can make something out of that!
What is your favorite book of all time?
Watership Down.
