Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a reader first and foremost. A military brat, and father. I have a major case of ‘wanderlust’ and have a small set of things which make me happy as far as recreation. Bowling, karaoke and street racing. I’m an ex-Air Force and Army vet and I use all my experiences and an inate capability for story-telling to write my realistic-Fiction books.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Invasion of the Most Sacred is my latest publication. It was inspired by the large amount of MRAPs we [U.S. Armed Forces] had in Afghanistan. I wondered what would happen if we were secretly planning to plan a land-borne invasion of the entire Greater Middle East. The story grew from there.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Indeed. My writing is all but habitual. I have a strong surge of writing or long periods of writing ‘dry-spells’. And most of my creative juices don’t start to flow until it’s 1 a.m.,.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
David Baldacci, Nora Roberts, Madeliene L’Engle, James Patterson, Betty Mahmoudy, and Jean Sasson
What are you working on now?
My 6th and 7th novels. One is a story called “Filipina”. A story which, implied by it’s title is about Filipino women. The other is “The Disciple of Takeda Jin”. It’s my take on what would happen in a second season of my favorite anime, Samurai Champloo.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Remains tro be seen. I’ve had books sold from popular sites like Facebook and even Instagram, to dating sites like Tinder and even the depths of the internet… Tagged. I find readers everywhere, but no one site has really DONE IT for me because by my standards “IT” hasn’t happened yet.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes. Write. Everyone has a story. But not all have the desire to tell it. Once you have the desire, you must have the will… to write, and keep on writing; until the story is told. So, yeah… write.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t get discouraged. Will someone with many big dreams such as myself, and at such a ripe age… getting discouraged is only a few disappointments away. Those close to me, remind me every so often to remain encouraged. I appreciate that advice the most.

Wonderful interview! I appreciate the novels you have already published and I’m so intrigued by the current creations you are writing! I definitely can’t wait for “Filipina”! And yes, don’t get discouraged. We all have downfalls, how we choose to overcome those is what truly matters. I’m proud of you always, keep up the fantastic work, Rooks!

So far, when I’ve researched about writers, it seems to be very common to have dry-spells and also to prefer to write at night time. I find that very interesting.
I would like to ask, your two upcoming novels that you described in the interview, why did you choose to write about those themes?
And also, would you ever explore writing other genres? Like fantasy or horror?
