Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
A fetishist and an artist, I have been fascinated with fetish for a very long time. My writing is where my fetish fascination meets my art. I have written a bunch of short stories, Billionaire’s Little Sweetheart, which came out on Valentines Day was my debut novel, and I am very happy with my baby so far, as are my readers (or at least that’s what they’re saying anyway! 😉 )
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest baby – I mean book – is called Billionaire’s Little Sweetheart. I was inspired to write it after living abroad in North America and seeing how my friends struggled through university then struggled with their student debt. In my homeland Australia, we’re lucky to not have such huge problems with student debt (although students are poor world-wide!). I was imagining what it would be like for my friends to have someone swoop in and save them from this, then the sexy older man, Leon, was born. Writing his relationship with Cindy was really interesting, as most Daddy Dom’s are very close to their little girl’s and the dynamic screams for intimacy, yet Leon has a fear of intimacy, and commitment. He needed those two things to get involved with Cindy in the first place, but how is he going to overcome them now to keep her? That question really drove me on to write, and I’m rather happy with the story, even if the dynamic is slightly different to most DD/lg dynamics, I can trust my readers to come on this journey and see how things end.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
If I’m having a bad writing day (as in, writers block, no words on the paper) I often find tea helps… but doesn’t it for everyone?
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I think everything influences you. I do read widely though, even outside of my genre. I think this is important for authors, if you read the same thing all the time it doesn’t really push your creative thinking or imagination, you know?
What are you working on now?
I am working on another age play romance, but one where my characters are a little more close, and a lot more intimate. I am enjoying the different dynamic.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve spent so long focusing on art and self expression that I have not put much work into promotion. I mostly just try to engage with my readers online, through email or social media. I am doing that more because I like hearing from them though, rather than promoting. Perhaps Pretty-Hot.Com can help me great through my ‘promotion barriers’ to be a better self-promoter?
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write, write! You can only be a better writer through your own hard work. Also, make time to engage with your readers. Not only is it a far better experience for them, but it is for you too. It’s much nicer to be part of a community than not.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Ever, ever? That’s a tall order. I don’t know about ever, can talk about right now though. Right now I like, “They can because they think they can.”
I would love to make a living writing – a living doing what I love – and I am often told that I never will, but I shrug, maybe I will. As long as I think I can (and take steps towards it) perhaps I will “make it” as a writer. I can because I think I can.
What are you reading now?
Dystopias, like everyone else. I just finished “We”, and will likely re-read “1984” or “Animal Farm” starting this evening, although I’m not sure which.
Pretty dark reading for someone who writes about love, I realise. However, for love to exist, something other than love (fear) must also exist.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll keep publishing age play romances for as long as the age play community is enjoying them. I know there is a whole world of fetish out there, but I really love this for right now.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Bill Bryson’s “A Short History Of Nearly Everything” really excited me in university. Also, “The Four Hour Work Week” and not just because Tim Ferris is a babe, either.
