Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been writing, day-dreaming about writing and building Sci-Fi worlds in my head for decades. I love Action Adventure and am also passionate about inspirational quotes and how they can apply to our complicated lives in today’s crazy world. I’ve published three books, Inspirational Quotes – 172 Insights, The Delphus Paradox, a Sci-Fi fantasy book that starts in another dimension and ends up here, as well as an Action Adventure story set in current time, where a young megalomaniacal brother and sister, steal a small, tactical nuclear weapon to disrupt the western hemisphere in an incredibly bold attack.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Inspirational Quotes – 172 self-help insights that can help your life’s journey to make you smile, think about life, relationships and work, to help you keep a positive attitude, have happiness, daily motivation and affirmation.
I am passionate about inspirational quotes. The problem I found was that so many books just dumped a truck load of quotes often categorized. I wanted to share these 172 inspirational insights with notes and ideas how we may incorporate them into our crazy, information overloaded lives. I wanted to craft a way to enable readers to take the insight in, think about it to see if it resonated with them and made their life’s journey, just a little bit better.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think they are unusual! I get up around 4 AM EVERY day to write and work on my craft. To me it is about thoughtful practice, every day. I enjoy the art of writing and fashioning new, intriguing worlds for my Sci-Fi stories and new and interesting events for my Action Adventure stories.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Tons. More than I have space for. I really like Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, even though many found her later views unpopular. The story still resonates with me today in its personal spirituality and accountability. I like Tom Clancy, really like Clive Cussler, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov and many more.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on a Prequel for the Delphus Sci-Fi series. The current working title is Eagles of the Dawn. I originally wrote this in the mid-1980’s and submitted it to publishers with no success. I received positive and great constructive feedback, so have dredged it out of the depths of my story closet, had it scanned and am now working to correct the deficiencies. I was inspired by wanting to craft an unusual “first contact” story that led to man-kind’s inclusion in a broader empire.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am still learning this.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Go to Amazon.com and search for Chris Fox – buy his books like Write to Market, Launch to Market, etc. The package is about $15 and these short books are incredibly detailed an insightful for writers looking to write, launch, promote and market their stories. Chris’ work and approach are wonderful!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write every day. Pick a time when you can focus. Set up your environment the same way every day and get into the groove. Dump the words down on the page, don’t worry about spelling, grammar, just put them down, edit later. Create a writing habit.
What are you reading now?
The rest of Chris Fox’s ebooks about writing, also The Lost Starship and Constitution – both are Sci-Fi.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To write and share my stories as best I can.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Several – Atlas Shrugged, The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress, Friday by Heinlein. Actually, there are a ton, but these are the first to come to mind.
