Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
If I’m not writing a book, I’m reading one. I’m just an ordinary country girl from South Carolina who loves to tell extraordinary stories. I like to dive into some hot topics, but there’s always humor weaved throughout. Life’s tough. One must laugh in order to survive it!
I have currently published 12 best sellers with many more on the way.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Life Unwritten.
This book takes a look into a young lady’s life even though she thinks it’s hidden. We all struggle with body image to a point and allow these struggles to morph into fear. Thus, we hold our own selves back and miss out on so much living. Life is short, don’t allow a chapter to go unwritten!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
A scene from my debut novel, Lulu’s Cafe, the main character is locked in a closet. To write this scene, I grabbed a notepad, pen, and a bottle of water and spent the day sitting in a closet.
I like to get into the scenes for sure.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
So many. I truly appreciate the wit in Janet Evanovich’s stories. Jodi Picoult doesn’t hold back any punches, and she inspires me to do the same. I love the magical settings Sarah Addison Allen creates. Charles Martin is inspiring and I love his good-ole-boy characters. Francine Rivers honesty is refreshing. I could go on and on…
What are you working on now?
The Resolution Series. It is set in the Tennessee mountains and follows two sisters in the first two books. One struggling to fix a broken marriage by readdressing each point of her wedding vows. The other sister trying her best to talk a recluse veteran into giving her and love a chance. The third book is about the villain from the first two stories. He need redemption and resolution.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My Facebook friends are the best when sharing book sales and releases. Truly a great, supportive group! Bookbub has helped get my books into new hands. And many other sites, such as Pretty Hot, help me out for free or minimal cost. I’m very grateful for that!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write, and then write some more. Also, write what you are passionate about. Not what you think others want you to write!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Take the good criticism along with the bad, because you will get both!
What are you reading now?
I just completed After We Fall by Melanie Harlow. I devour her books!
What’s next for you as a writer?
Just to keep on writing!
What is your favorite book of all time?
