A Practical Guide to Parenting Early School Years: To help parents understand Early School Years behaviors, nurture strong communication skills and build a great relationship with their child. by Suzi Livingstone
The Early School Years is a unique stage of development for the growing child, with age range between four to eight years old.
It is a period when the child discovers how to play with others after a toddler period of preferring self-play; they learn how to have fun and share; and they start to explore their environment and build relationships.
As you would expect there are a few growing pains that are all part of the nature of this dynamic development period.
As a parent, it is a prime opportunity to help the child gain some valuable life skills while they enjoy their adventures in budding maturity: It is a chance to teach the child about kindness, cleanliness, money management, and even meal preparation skills!
This book takes a walk-through practical and common-sense suggestions as to how to manage these various topics that would typically arise in the growing needs of the child.
While there are numerous academic and scientific recommendations on how to manage a child in this growth stage, the common-sense approach often proves to be the most effective as it also provides the perfect opportunity to explore and grow their relationship as parent and child in the process!

Author Bio:
Suzi Livingstone is a busy Mum of two, who now works part time in a corporate role and has a very full schedule. She has always kept a journal and enjoys writing and now as her children are growing up, she is finding that she has more time on her hands to develop her writing skills.
Suzi is an only child, as were both her Mum and her Dad, consequently she did not have a large family network to fall back on for support or parenting advice while bringing up her children and so as a result she ended up buying nearly every parenting book out there, many of which she found very medical, clinical and scientific rather than having any kind of a practical or common-sense type approach and providing basic sometimes obvious advice for parents, especially those who are first time parents and it was this reason which prompted her to write her own practical guides to help the parents, who were in the same situation that she had been in.
Suzi is also really interested in achieving a Healthier Lifestyle, for her family, especially via the means of great quality fresh food that can be grown simply and she is a big fan of options that can be easily incorporated into her life with no fuss and benefit the whole family, without having to become a slave to it and this was what prompted her to have a go at growing her own produce at home and was the inspiration for “HOW TO SPROUT”
Like many working Mum’s in her position, Suzi has often felt overwhelmed and at times almost paralysed by the sheer weight of things that she has to contend with and like many working Mum’s she just does not have the time to read huge, detailed manuals on a subject. Being a pragmatist, Suzi is someone who appreciates a simple step by step guide style guide which demystifies a subject and gives a no nonsense, practical approach and which includes lots of helpful tips and best practice advice which can be quickly and easily implemented in her busy schedule to achieve quick wins and that help her regain control of her life.
Suzi speaks Spanish and French and loves to travel. Much of her time is involved with the childrens after school activities and sports. She enjoys walking in the countryside with her children and exploring nature. Recently Suzi and her family have started growing some of their own food and are really enjoying eating the fruits of their labour.
