Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a sales person through and through, I love the chase and the ups and downs of this career. A career that has allowed me to travel the world and have a comfortable life style. Yes there is stress in the job, I have 3 stents in my heart to prove that but it has more pro’s than con’s. I have two children, one a medical doctor the other a sales trainer for a PLC insurance company. I have been married 2 times, my second marriage is going strong after 27 years. It is my intention to write 7 books. So far, I have written 2, All Mouth No Pay and Prospecting a two-way street. My reviews have all been 5-star ratings to date.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Prospecting A two-way street is my latest book. I was inspired to write it as I would really enjoy seeing some of the younger folk getting a taste of how things have changed and having the knowledge to see that those changes are slight, and everything can still be applied today with some slight tweaks. It is the future of consent so we as sales people need to bring prospects to us not us to the prospect. I always say “Chase money, don’t chase people”
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to write on a Saturday evening into Sunday morning. I find this is a good time to work, I tend to finish around 5am Sunday morning.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have main authors in the same profession, Brian Tracy and Zig Ziglar outside of my profession I enjoy Douglas Adams, Ben Elton and some older writers such as Charles Dickens and Catherine Cookson. Out of all the books by these authors, I would have to say Charles Dickens was the greatest influence, A Christmas Carol just reminds us that we need to be good people while we are on this Earth.
What are you working on now?
My 3rd book which I am hoping to complete by September 2019. All about the sales training, I have undergone and my own training methods I have given to friends.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
So far, I have only used LinkedIn, LinkedIn has over 600 million members and they mainly are business people. I have only started to spread my wings.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never ask friends and family their opinion until you have published your 1st book.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
It is better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees
What are you reading now?
I have stopped reading until I complete my 7 books as I must stay focused. I do not want to have my style of writing compromised.
What’s next for you as a writer?
After I have completed my 7 books, I may go on to public speaking. Or I may write some more books.
What is your favorite book of all time?
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
