Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Art Coombs. I have written three books. “Don’t Just Manage – LEAD!”, “Human Connection” and “Hard Easy”
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The book is titled “Hard Easy”. Living Hard-Easy has always been a core life philosophy of mine. But it was never really verbalized until a friend brought it to my attention while on a cattle drive. From that day on, I see it manifest everywhere, in everything and everyone. You can live Hard-Easy or Easy Hard. It is your choice; it is your life.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to sip an icy, white zero sugar Monster while I write.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love Malcolm Gladwell, David McCullough, Stephen Ambrose, and Brené Brown. I love their research, use of vocabulary and writing authenticity.
What are you working on now?
I have been thinking about doing a follow-up to “Don’t Just Manage – LEAD!” There are many concepts that can be built on the hypotheses of that book. I have also considered a book that encapsulates all three of my books. They all tie nicely together. You cannot lead others unless you have a real Human Connection for them. Hence “Human Connection”. And you cannot lead others unless you are first managing yourself. Hence “Hard-Easy”. So they all kind of fit together.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Wow, that is a tough one. I use many methods to promote my books. LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and of course my website www.artcoombs.com
Do you have any advice for new authors?
1. Write something every day. 2. Write even when you do not feel like writing. 3. Fight through the self-doubt and write. 4. Do not listen to the critics that are not authors. There will be plenty that tell you your writing is not all that great. Ignore those that are sitting in the stands and criticizing you down on the field. But if you are getting feedback from other authors that are in the arena of writing. Listen to their advice. You do not have to agree with it, but you should listen and ponder it.
What are you reading now?
“Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me)”, by Carol Tavris, Elliot Aronson
What is your favorite book of all time?

“The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” by Mark Manson
“The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey
“John Adams” by David McCullough
“Undaunted Courage” by Stephen Ambrose
