John Gordon is a self-taught chef and restaurant owner who grew up in Greenville, South Carolina and studied engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He went on to work as a sales manager and a railway engineer but there was something else that John had always been interested in, that simply had to become a reality.
His love of baking was something that had been with him since he was small, when he watched his grandmother bake delicious breads for breakfast. The amazing aromas of those breads stayed with John and influenced him to pursue a career as a professional chef and opening his own small restaurant.
From these small beginnings John decided to branch out and, knowing that there were millions of enthusiastic amateur chefs out there, he decided to put a lot of his thoughts and recipes into books. Now he has a series of great titles that all have delicious food as their central theme, helping many people to reproduce amazing food in the comfort of their own kitchens.
Today, John still lives in Greenville, with his wife, their children and their German Shepherd, Molly. In his free time he enjoys testing his skills in his kayak, writing and teaching cookery skills. He also enjoys traveling whenever he can and is a huge fan of Italian and French cuisine.
John’s books are a great fit for hectic lives and the creation of delicious food, especially the breads that he has perfected over the years and for which he owes a huge debt of gratitude to his grandmother.
