Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born at a young age to parents who treated me like a child for most of my early years. One day, a band of ninjas rescued me from the city of Rockhampton, QLD, Australia, and took me to Brisbane. However I moved on to Perth where life really started for me.
I’ve been a computer systems programmer; a salesman of many different products and services; and even a stage mentalist (long before Simon Baker jumped on the bandwagon).
These days I live with my wife and daughter in Brisbane, QLD.
To date (2/2/2019) I have published four books: Twelve Strokes of Midnight, Dead Cell, Bootstrap’s Journey, and Demon Blade. There are many more to come.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Demon Blade, which is a sequel to Dead Cell. It’s a supernatural thriller that takes place in Australia when the spirit of Jack the Ripper resurfaces in 2016. But super-psychic Craig Ramsey is on the demon’s trail and discovers its ancient, blood-stained history holds a deadly secret that relates to him!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Ummmmm. People have always thought me unusual, but I think I’m pretty normal… even if I do like eating Cheezels and yoghurt at the same time. Or peanut butter on waffles (nothing else).
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Traci Harding; Douglas Adams.
What are you working on now?
Currently, I’m working on three projects. One: a sequel to Bootstrap’s Journey, my time-travel romp in Australia. The second is the next instalment in the Craig Ramsey series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Use my mouth.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Run! Run while you can!
No, seriously, keep doing it. Don’t try competing with others. Your biggest enemy and competitor is yourself, so try making yourself better than you were the day before.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Brush your teeth twice a day.
What are you reading now?
This Present Past by Traci Harding
What’s next for you as a writer?
Bed.
What is your favorite book of all time?
To Kill A Mockingbird. That book is pack-jammed full of great characters and characterisations. Otherwise, pick up a Charles Dickens book.
