we can truly become.

Author Bio:
Don Campbell is an entrepreneur and artist specializing in portrait and figurative sculptures. His medium of choice is clay. “A storyteller in clay” is how he describes himself, with each sculpture telling as many stories as there are people who cast their gaze.
Don’s first experience in sculpting was in his high school art class. He created two sculptures – an abstract tree in plaster and an abstract form in metal and plexiglass. Don’s passion and talent for sculpting were instantly obvious, but he chose to follow a different path in life. Don didn’t want to be a starving artist and thought graphic design would be the better career move. 20 years would pass before he returned to sculpting.
Don worked as a graphic designer for several companies in his native Toronto. He was eventually lured to the U.S. to assume an art director role and freelanced for several advertising agencies. Don eventually launched his own agency, which he has been running for more than 30 years.
Today, Don is sculpting more than ever, developing his own process for finding and expressing creativity through four levels of listening. Inspired by Otto Scharmer’s Theory U. Don’s process allows him to be more present and mindful, so he can enter a place where creativity can be born and take shape – literally. Through writing, teaching and speaking engagements, Don is eager to share this process with both artists and non-artists. He firmly believes that everyone is creative and can learn to express their unque inner voice that wants to be heard.
“There is paradox in sculpting human forms. From one perspective, they seem motionless, frozen in time, locked in an unfinished gesture or conversation. To me, they are as alive as anything in the universe. An unfinished story is emanating from each sculpture, engaging the observer’s imagination. My art is ripe for the observer’s glance, giving birth to a dance unique to each individual.”
Art is a catalyst for expansion, growth, and the realization of our connection to all. Nothing is static. All things are in motion, each expressing itself from its innermost core. I sculpt to communicate, to share, to expand consciousness and to feel connected to the flow and rhythm of life unfolding through me. I create out of joy and connection to the vast sea of endless potential, where judgment and fear are relics of the past, discarded in exchange for true freedom.”
