About Escape from the Big Easy: Zombie Chaos Book 1:
He’s out of shape… sort of misanthropic… and carrying his cat.
Rick Grimes he ain’t.
When the zompoc hits New Orleans, Joe has only one goal in mind: to reach his wife, Clare, who’s hopefully safe at her mother’s house, 80 miles away in Baton Rouge. To get there, he must battle through undead hordes and, worse, idiotic humans in the French Quarter, snag his tricked-out zombie-proof van, and haul ass down the zombie-infested highways and byways of southern Louisiana. With any luck, he’ll survive the mayhem, make it to Clare in time, and keep his disgruntled kitty, Azazel, alive.
Escape from the Big Easy is the first book in the Zombie Chaos series. If you like the drama of The Walking Dead, the gore of Romeroʼs Dead series, and the humor of Shaun of the Dead, you’ll love following Joe on his madcap breakout from zombie-filled New Orleans.
With the recent release of Book 4 (Scout’s Horror), this reviewer described the series best…
“I enjoy most zombie apocalypse stories, but this has become one of my favorites because of its relative realism. The MCs are middle aged, out of shape, and not especially crack survivalists…just like many of us. But they persevere, and their love for one another carries them through. Plus, it’s funny as hell. Good reading; highly recommend!” – Amazon Review on Book 4

Author Bio:
D.L. Martone is the joint pen name of husband-wife duo Daniel and Laura Martone. Part-time residents of New Orleans and northern Michigan, the Martones travel the country in their mobile writing studio, a cozy RV dubbed Serenity. As you might have guessed, they’re huge fans of Firefly, which is why they remodeled the interior of their travel trailer to resemble Captain Reynolds’ beloved spaceship. Together, they enjoy writing space opera, fantasy game lit, urban fantasy, time travel, cozy mysteries, and, of course, post-apocalyptic zombie tales.
