Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I wrote several fiction books and book series. My books range from witty action-thrillers with intriguing twists to sitcom-style dramas that have laugh-out-loud comedic timing.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Characters of Milestoneville Book Series. I was inspired to write the 4-book series to tell the story of two fictional characters who appear on page one of another book I wrote called No Main Character: Collector’s Edition. I thought the two characters were intriguing and needed a complete book series to tell their story.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My writing process and habits developed from my experiences from writing books. I have many writing habits and techniques. Most of my explanation on writing processes would mostly make sense to me. After writing several books, I need to feel challenged when I write. I set writing challenges for each book I’ve written. The first thing I always do before starting a book is to think of something that would challenge me. An actual writing challenge I set was chapter one ( the sample read) of the book No Main Character: Collector’s Edition. I wanted the reader to feel like they were attending a music award show. I have never read this book. The reason is, I can’t make it past chapter one without having a non-stop laughing attack and feeling like I walked out of a rock concert. I’m not a filmmaker. However, when I write a book, I take the view that it’s a movie set. I’m the director, directing a movie. I also transfer my acting energy into each character. I find that writing breaks are necessary; they give insight into the direction of the chapters and storylines. There is more to my process, but I’ll keep this answer short.
