My Story
by Roger w Upchurch
I was a successful custom home builder for over thirty-five years and a mortgage broker as Shelby Financial for ten of those years. I also did remodeling, commercial construction and flip many homes. When the economy crashed in 2009, I retired from the building and mortgage business.
I started a networking company called Professional Alliance Board (PAB) helping business as their Board of Directors. Holding business owners accountable to the decisions. I was beginning to be successful with PAB.
Then a friend of mine introduced me to a new business the synthetic marijuana business call K2. I check it out and it was LEGAL, so I went on board with him and we started manufacturing it. I started making real money sometimes $100,000 a week. I had plants in Indianapolis, Phoenix and LA.
K2 started getting a bad name because others were coping it and putting who knows what in it. So, I started calling my products under other names such as Passion Sense and other names.
With the money I was making I started a music business called Daddy Real Entertainment. I had a recording studio, record label, two-night clubs, a limo service and concert promotor. I was hobnobbing with celebrities and enjoying the good life. At my night clubs and concerts, I had Ed Sheeran, Temptations, The Voice and American Idol contestants. I worked with Ty Herndon, The Kentucky Headhunters, 38 Special, Johnny Rivers and I had Wynonna Judd come to my show. Plus, all the local artist on my label you can still see them at Daddy Real Entertainment.
Then the DEA came knocking and said that I had an ingredient in my products called XRL11, I told them that had never heard of that and never bought any of that, It did not matter as I spent two and a half years in a Federal Prison camp and was released May 7th 2020 to home confinement until March 13th 2021. The Government took two and a half million dollars from me and my wife and she was never even questioned. The IRS says I must pay taxes on the money they took. I was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and money laundering which I do not know what that is as I paid taxes and all the money was in the bank and at home, I did not hide anything.
Now I am an advocate for prison, sentencing, and justice reform. Helping men and women facing the justice system, before, during and after prison. I want to help children and families with incarcerated parents of loved ones. Also, Veterans and the homeless because they are in their own prisons.
I am also with Cars 4 Heroes which gives cars to needy Veterans.
I have published two books and you buy them at all bookstores. Check out www.rescuesuccess.org and www.rogerwupchurch.com to find out more and help our cause.
