About How to Leash a Thief by Cat Clayton:
Cat Clayton Serves Up a Slice of Mystery Rom-Com Pie Sprinkled with Texas Charm & a Dollop of Canine Sleuth!
Southern and sassy Steely Lamarr adores pie, her cheeky Chihuahua, and her spiked camo boots. When she learns her dog-grooming shop’s night janitor is murdered, and his pup is dog-napped, Steely’s dogged determination to discover what happened leads her nowhere but trouble.
Now, the murderer is out to get her…
With the help of Cuff—her purse pooch, a combative, yet hunky police officer, her best friend Daniel, and her ex-gamblin’ grandma, Steely attempts to chase clues and sniff out the killer, before he fetches her.

Author Bio:
If I were a hat, I’d be hand-crafted from 100% Irish wool in houndstooth tweed, a wide-brimmed fedora with a velvet band in a rich, chocolate brown, and trimmed with a yellow rose, an oak twig of acorns, and an exotic peacock feather. Oh, what a hat I’d be! Born in Chicago with deep Irish roots (96%), I currently hang my unique hat deep in the heart of Texas.* I write southern mysteries featuring female amateur sleuth leads, bursting with hilarity, shenanigans, & heart. Some say they read like caffeinated book versions of the Hallmark mystery movies. Personally, I believe they have an Elle Woods wakes up in a southern, older, and quirkier version of Nancy Drew kind of vibe.* Over the years, I’ve had a hatful of occupations, everything from working in a karaoke bar in Okinawa, Japan to a children’s library, and thirty+ others in between.* Since 1990, my best friend and I can proudly say, “I still do.” I’m “mama” to two amazing daughters. I spoil our dogs & cats rotten, and according to my kids, my adopted Chihuahua is the “favorite child.” I’m a self-proclaimed Chardonnay snob, but also known to sneak a wee bit of the husband’s Irish whiskey and create fruity concoctions. When I’m not writing, I’m thrifting for funky hats, and when I’m not doing either, my “Gigi” heart belongs to three amazing grandkids.
