About It Must Be Winter by Michelle Wang
It must be winter…and our favourite high-energy family is back to revel in the signs of a brand new season. Follow along as they stack and rhyme their way to a snowy wonderland that celebrates all there is to love about this magical time of year. And yes, our comedy duo of backyard squirrels are still here to keep the page-turning fast and furious, with more pun-derful riddles that will leave you rolling on the ice, chortling out loud.
Written by an unabashedly Canadian teacher, “It Must Be Winter” features:
-repetitive chorus to promote participation and recollection
-predictable patterns for early readers to follow
-simple yet rich text for vocabulary building
-opportunity to learn about synonyms and shapes
-springboards to cross-curricular activities
But most of all, this book is: ‘A humorous picture book young children will love –
particularly the naughty squirrels! A FINALIST and highly
recommended to young children.’ The Wishing Shelf Book Awards

One winter morning, Michelle Wang looked out the window and said, “I know just what to do!” And she wrote another book. “It Must Be Winter” is the much anticipated follow up to her multi-award winning debut “It Must Be Autumn”. “It Must Be Spring” has also sprung ahead of “It Must Be Summer” coming soon to a bookshelf near you.
Michelle lives in Toronto, Canada with her husband, four children, and two (part time) puppy nephew pets. When she isn’t teaching her students how to zip zippers and read books, Michelle can be found NOT cooking in her kitchen and eating her favourite Canadian cuisine at local restaurants where she always brings her own takeout containers. In the winter, Michelle and her family have been known to build random snowmen on neighbours’ lawns after shovelling their driveways. Their annual family snowball fight is epic.
