Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Jolie Moore is a new pen name for a USA Today bestselling author of romance. Taming the Bad Boy will be Jolie’s first title.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My upcoming release is Taming the Bad Boy. As an author I’m continually captivated by those heroes and heroines who live life on the margins. In this case both have very non traditional careers.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so, although I once wrote an entire book in bed. I’d start writing on my laptop in the morning and not get out of bed until I was done for the day. My back didn’t like that.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The most influential authors have been Lynley series author Elizabeth George and the hundreds of Harlequin series authors whose books I devoured in my childhood.
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on book 2 of a romance trilogy following a single couple. The first book, What Was Perfect, releases in July. I’m writing What Was Lost now. It’s about a couple that meets and falls in love in their teens. They’re in love with each other for over twenty years, but never at the same time.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook, Instagram, and my own website are the best for reaching a broad group of new readers.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Rinse. Repeat.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
ABC. Apply butt to chair. You can’t edit what you haven’t written.
What are you reading now?
I’m immersed in non-fiction as I write. My current read is a book called The One Thing by Gary Keller. It builds upon the lessons learned from reading Essentialism by Greg McKeown. It all boils down to: life is short, do what matters.
What’s next for you as a writer?
My current goals are to reach as many new readers as possible with my crazy, beautiful, love stories.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. Recently my nine year old son asked me this very same question. I answered with the title at which point he looks at me from across the kitchen counter and says, ‘It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…” I was so amazingly proud that he knew the first lines of my very favorite book.
