Living Dead 2.0 Synopsis
The characters herein, live through seeing a zombie apocalyptic upheaval that they could have
never have imagined possible. It shows how they stay calm in the face of danger, how they persevere to survive. Kyle, while sent on a special ops search and rescue mission out of the country by military, sees the first glimpse of what is to come. Rose Fox, an Independent Journalist, unknowingly runs into the story of a lifetime. Only to realize, it is her last story. Will, and his daughters, Stella and Scarlett, realize they better hunker down on the family farm after Stella has an accident, then almost gets attacked by the crazed man that she had run over. Major Scott and Jimmy, overwhelmed by guilt and shame after seeing the treatment of the public by the military, desert their rogue unit. They rush to collect the Majors’ family, then go searching for a safe haven. With guidance from Pastor Dom, they move from place to place, still clinging onto what little faith they have left. Renee and Aidan, along with their families, leave town when their neighborhood is over run by zombies. They head to an abandoned orchard purchased by Renee’s recently deceased husband. This leads to the ultimate meeting of all the others, creating an unbreakable group bond.
As the combined groups come together and strengthen their friendships, they start to formulate
a plan for survival. They build ‘The Orchard’ into their new home, by planning supply runs, and helping other survivors they meet. Then, the deranged Raiders ambush them, killing one of their own. Now, realizing ‘the dead’ are not the only danger out there, they think of how they should protect what they have left. The Raiders want The Orchard for themselves. Kyle and the others all know that, if the Raiders get inside the walls of the Orchard, none will not survive. They work together as a group, but each one of them strive for their own survival and daily sanity. They plan together, but when danger comes, each character acts out of bravery and concern for the group, disregarding their own safety in their own unique way. This story keeps the idea of hope and decency alive, even in the worst of times. After attacked, Kyle, Will, Renee, Major Scott, Rose, and Jimmy know that the ambushes will not stop, so they decide to take on the Raiders and fight for survival. Though they decide what to do as a group, Kyle seems to run right into the face of danger alone, and often, without consulting the others. As Jimmy and Aidan, old soldier buddies, try to save each other, they end up saving The Orchard. The matronly influences, combined with the guidance of Pastor Dom, gives the group hope.
In the end, they receive help beating the Raiders due to an unforeseeable development, while meeting old friends along the way.

I am a fifty-four year old Grandmother of four. I wrote this in my spare time, when I worked eleven hour days running a Dry-Cleaner for an elderly couple in North Western Indiana. Truthfully, it was not supposed to be a book. On slow days, it kind of took a life of its own.
