Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Oooh well, I should warn the reader… All who enter my mind, are exploring the imagination of a slightly egotistical Author Mistress, where lesbians wield whips and flogs, tie you up, and leave you breathless. Naughty subs enjoy a little bondage and spanking.
In my erotic lesbian romance, readers will always find happy endings and sweet romance, blended with steamy bondage and submission. My characters go on a journey, learn valuable lessons, and come full circle, all within the realm of the BDSM Lifestyle.
I am involved in the Lifestyle. I am a bisexual – polyamorous woman – who is married to my husband and my wife. In The Lifestyle, I am Mistress to my wife and a bottom to my husband.
Currently, I have only one book on the market. Double Entendre is my debut novel in a book series called Lesbians in Leather. I have many ideas in the works! Book two is being released soon!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My debut novel was released in November 2019 – Double Entendre – Book One of Lesbians in Leather.
I’ve long since wanted to write Erotic BDSM Lesfic Romance. I felt there wasn’t enough content for this very special kind of story.
When I attempted to find other authors who produce content in this niche, the pickings were slim. So ya know what they say – if it doesn’t exist – write it!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Being that I’m both a sadist and a masochist, I torture myself by giving in to the voices in my head and writing for long sprints. I have to sit near a window when I write – and I’m a coffee addict!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Anna Stone and Anastasia Vitsky are probably the two biggest names that influenced me to throw my hat into the ring in writing similar content. I LOVE their stuff! I aspire to be as good as them.
Honestly, though, there are so many Lesfic writers out there that have also influenced me. It’s hard to name them all.
What are you working on now?
I’m constantly working on my Fiction Friday blog posts. It’s an ongoing BDSM romance story distributed to my Reader subs in 2k weekly increments. I am finishing up Book 2 and 3 in my Lesbians in Leather series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
It seems counter-intuitive at first, but offering a freemium book so readers can really sample your writing is the best promotional tactic I use, then having readers sign up for my weekly ongoing story helps keep my subs salivating for more.
Also, networking is the way to go when you’re an indie author. Twitter has been amazing in meeting other Lesfic authors. I had no idea that’s where they all were hiding! In the beginning, I thought Lesfic writers on social media were indie-unicorns until I found the Twitter LGBT writing community.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just do it! Yeah, it’s a cliche that I’m using a Nike slogan, but it’s true – Just do it!
Write it, get it edited, and publish.
I feel like I wasted years being scared and afraid. Turns out it’s not nearly as scary as I thought it would be.
I’ve realized there are ALWAYS going to be people who will resonate with the story you want to tell and others who will scoff at your message because they simply can’t connect. You can’t please everyone all of the time, and that’s okay.
Best to focus on those who are pleased. Those are your folks. It took me far too long to realize this.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Read bad, bad, bad, books!
No, not the naughty kind like I write.
I mean awful writing. It’s the best education you can get as a writer.
Truth… Thank you, Stephen King, for your book “On Writing.” For making this suggestion to us aspiring writers. It has been the best thing I’ve done for my career.
What are you reading now?
What am I not reading? Like I said, I’m both a sadist and masochist. I have to have at least several books going at once. Which, I agonize over when I will finish them all. It’s an ongoing self-flatulating pleasure of mine.
Reading an author friend’s book TJ Dallas – The Bartender’s Pride.
What’s next for you as a writer?
World Domination is not off the table. The plan: collect as many naughty little subs, ahem I mean fans, so I can revel in being called Mistress by all of them.
Oh, wait did I say that out loud?… I mean write the next book of course.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Are we sure the interviewer isn’t a sadist? Pa-lease! Far too torturous to narrow it down to one book. Just thinking about it makes me tingle with sweet indecision.
