MOTHERS OF PINE WAY, PINE VALLEY, BOOK TWO by Corrine Ardoin
The family home is burning down and ninety-year-old Ev stands before it remembering when life was good. No longer wanting to live, she agrees to join the farmworkers march to certain death. Her daughter, Candelaria, experiences a transformative awakening, throwing off the shadows of the past and stepping in to her power, like a great, black lion with fiery eyes. She joins the march and speaks before the crowd on the capitol steps. “Listen to me! I know who you are! I hear you!” she shouts. Although, obstacles to fully realizing her gifts yet stand in the way, including her fears for her troubled son, Jim. With the guidance and support of her best friend, her daughter, her spiritual counselor, and the loving connection to her mother, Candelaria navigates the mysteries of life and death, hoping to find her way.
