A laugh-out-loud, feel-good book. A crazy-funny tale about a 39-year-old screw-up, her search for love, and her wise-cracking cat. Daisy is turning 40 and her sisters pray over her unmarried status. After the Old-Maid exorcism, her cat begins talking, smoking and the cat is drinking more alcoholic beverages even though booze makes his whiskers wrinkle. Mm, there must be a connection to all this flowing alcohol, which may explain the bubbly in Daisy’s brain. Even her 6 blind dates, men referred by her meddling sisters, are named after liquor. Her cat’s dating advice at times even makes sense. A quirky “looking for love in all the wrong places” with her meddling sisters setting her up on wacky blind dates. Will Daisy ever find her Mr. Right?

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away named Watermelon National Labs, Belinda was enslaved to write computer programs boiled in Java. She eventually escaped the world of software engineering to find herself locked in a world of fiction. Her cat Shakespeare often sits on her lap and types on the keyboard while Belinda dictates the fantasies in her head. Though Belinda is married, her cat is still single and often falls in love with whatever fuzzy blanket catches his furry eye. Her cat was the inspiration of Single and Looking: Daisy, though Daisy is a woman and not a cat.
When Belinda is not fighting with her grouchy cat for the television remote, she is shaking her head in a Zumba class or waltzing with herself in Cardio Combo. She, also, loves to go dancing, attend live theatre, and watch dead movies. (Well if actors on stage are alive then the actors in movies must be dead, right?) Lastly, she enjoys stuffing her face with chocolate and then wiping her dirty hands with her cheeks.
Belinda Austin, also, writes fantasy and Science Fiction under the name of B. Austin. Please, there is no need to hire a private investigator, if you are still nosy about her life. Belinda has written some memoirs, which she is more than happy to share with you. Her life is pretty much an open book or two or three or four or five, though she has only written two memoirs so far.
Belinda is very modest but she sometimes brags that she won the New Mexico / Arizona Book Awards for Best Historical Fiction for Return of the Bones. She is a former web developer and does her own website. Belinda is, also, a hack graphic artist and creates her own book covers.
