Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a Midwestern girl who likes to make people happy with steamy small-town romance. Each book can stand alone, but you can also read them as one very long story. One takes up where the other leaves off, and you always get to catch up with old characters as you meet new ones.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Laws of Attraction, No. 7 in the list, came along because I wanted to revisit Sheriff Watkins, a good guy who has showed up in most of the books in the series. This time, he gets the girl.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m writing this in a scandalous state of undress right now. Does that count?
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My house is FULL of books of all kinds. I love a good story. Any good story.
What are you working on now?
No. 8 in the Small-Town Secrets Series. I’m just getting started on it right now. The main characters will be Haley and Jack. Readers have met Haley in a couple of other books. Jack is a new character.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m always plugging away, always hoping to connect with readers in any way I can.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
No, but do any established authors have any advice for me?
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Work hard. Think big.
What are you reading now?
Oddly, a non-fiction book called “The WEIRDest People in the World.” The better you understand people, the better you can write.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’d like to turn the Small-Town Secrets into a screenplay. I’ve had several readers suggest it and I think the series would work well.
What is your favorite book of all time?
That’s like asking a mom about her favorite child. I love so many books. Soooo many books. “The Once and Future King” is certainly a contender.
