Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a leadership coach, author, and adjunct professor. I live in the town I grew up in but did live on the East Coast for a little bit. I am a wife and mom of 3 kids. I enjoy being out in nature and drinking savory wine. This is my first book and I am excited to share it with the world.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called So Your Boss Can’t Lead? A Practical Guide to Be the Leader You Want. It started out as simply my graduate school project but was based on my own leadership and seeing the lack of leadership in the workplace. Whether that was my own bosses or my friends sharing about their bosses, there was a disconnect between what a leader should be and what they actually were.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to write throughout the night. I have the least amount of distractions that way.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I enjoy a lot of non-fiction reading. John Maxwell, Michael Hyatt, Jon Acuff, and Andy Stanley have been some of those that have had influence over me.
What are you working on now?
I will continue to write for my website and begin research for my next book.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Utilizing marketing services to get the word out there about my book. It is important to have a good book launch plan in place.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Make sure to hire professionals for editing and book cover! You want to deliver a great product.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Make sure to only compare yourself to who you were yesterday. You don’t know what others have been through so comparing yourself to them does you no good.
