Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am horrible at talking about myself, even for an author – so, I asked my best buddy to describe me, it goes a little something like this:
Tarrah Anders is a superhero.
Full stop.
By day she’s a compassionate social worker in San Diego, by evening a cartoon drawing mom, a reformed party girl then wife and by night, she’s an author of smart, sexy romances. Just like her, her characters are just like most of us: stuck somewhere between pretending to be an adult and wanting to go to bed at 9pm, trying to take over the world and just trying to make it to five o’clock when a cocktail will make everything better.
I’ve written 19 books, one of which is one massive book with 10 standalone yet interconnected short stories.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled ROOKIE MOVES and is part of Kristen Proby’s ‘With Me in Seattle’ Universe.
I wrote a baseball romance a few years ago and had a blast writing in that genre, that I thought writing another sport romance, but with the MC as a football rookie could be a blast.
I quickly thought up an idea and started writing.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I prefer to write listening to show tunes. Guaranteed though, that halfway through – I get up and start singing and dancing.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Judy Blume and Stephen King
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on two projects with K. Brombergs – Everyday Heroes KB World.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I rely heavily on word of mouth. I have a street team that are dedicated members of my readership, who shout from the rooftops for me on social media.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Take your time. Don’t feel like you need to rush any of your process.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t allow a family member to beta your books, they are slightly biased.
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading: Becoming by Michelle Obama.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Next? I’m trying to plan out my 2021 release schedule. I’ve got the first 2 quarters set up, and ended up pushing back some projects from this year to next, so I’m working on planning.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Forever by Judy Blume.
