About The Good Lord Willing and the Creek Don’t Rise: Pentimento Memories of Mom and Me by Robert W. Norris
Excellent Mother’s Day selection.
This intimate memoir traces the trials, tribulations, and unbreakable bond of two Pacific Northwest characters. Spanning nearly a century and several continents, it provides a heart-warming example of how far a mother and son can go in maintaining their bond against great odds. A must read for all mothers and sons, and for those who’ve wondered what the road less traveled would’ve been like had they taken that first step.
“An endearing biography/memoir highlighting the lives of Robert Norris and his mother, Catherine Caroline Murphy. Norris’ engaging and comprehensive narrative encompasses two lives lived by different generations, often on separate continents, but united through lineage and shared characteristics (i.e., charisma, rebellious spirit, intelligence). Norris writes admiringly about the matriarch of his family and the lasting impact she had on him. A true joy to read.”—Philip Zozzaro, Manhattan Book Review
