About The Little World of The Lindens by Angela Frewen:
If you’re a fan of English village or small town fiction, with a cosy, nostalgic feel and a generous sprinkling of humour, then follow the adventures of the Trevelyan family in this light-hearted tale of everyday life, set in nineteen seventies England.
Lucy, a primary school teacher and Laurence, assistant manager of the Northern & Southern Bank, live at number twenty-nine The Lindens, in a leafy suburb of the bustling market town of Cossington, with their two little girls, eight-year old Heather, five-year old Hazel and Mr Empydockles, the cat.
Christmas is coming and plans are afoot for the Xmas Jamboree, the Oak-Appledon Mixed Infants nativity play and a trip to the Cossington Royal to see the Desmond Delahaye Ballet Company who have come all the way from Birmingham for one night only. The new year finds Lucy busier than ever, hosting her first executive dinner party and receiving an unexpected offer she can’t refuse, which takes her to London.
Anybody who remembers the nineteen seventies, will feel at home in the little world of The Lindens where Woolworths still graces the High Street, the hostess trolley is the ultimate for home entertaining and nobody counts the calories when tucking into a slice of Battenberg – or lemon meringue pie when you really want to push the boat out.

Author Bio:
The author made her first attempt at writing a book when she was nine and now, an unconscionable number of decades later, she has finally managed to complete one and is working on a second.
After a misspent youth which included a period at art college where she daubed ineffectively at many a canvas, she enjoyed an equally undistinguished career temping in London and an ill-advised, if enjoyable, foray into ‘the music business’. Finally, she gave in and became what she was always destined to be, a primary school teacher and since then she has lived happily ever after.
She loves all things vintage, all things cake or chocolate related, loose leaf tea, bracing walks in inclement weather and binge-watching episodes of the 1970s British TV series, Crown Court.
