About The Tower Steps by Aelth Faye
Marjoram has lived in her tower since her parents gave her to the witch to protect her family from her magical accidents. She sometimes wishes she could leave the tower, but she hates her magic and refuses to learn to control it, a prerequisite for getting out. The gardener boy exchanges letters with her, and she is content to stay a prisoner. But one day her foster mother brings a doctor who specializes in helping people like Marjoram. But the friendly doctor has dark secrets…
In this retelling of Rapunzel, Marjoram is an innocent young teenager who longs to have the best of both worlds, the safety of her tower and the adventure of leaving it. When circumstances force her to leave her tower and rescue her friend, she suddenly has to grow up and learn that adventure comes with unexpected hardships.
Like all the fairytale hour novellas, this is a stand-alone, hour-long read and is guaranteed to have a happy ending for all the people who deserve it. This novella is set in the same world with some of the same characters as “Goldi-socks and the Three Hairs” and they can be read in any order.

Born in a snowy wasteland and raised by her sisters, Aelth has loved books since before she could read and was crafting stories before she could write. Still an avid reader, she lives on the edge of a forest which provide an excellent backdrop for her laptop and mug of tea.
She’s a professional nibling-wrangler (she has over 30 nieces and nephews) who values the title of “Cool Auntie” almost as much as the designation “author.” With a katana under her couch, a crossbow by the front door and bull-whip that she can indeed crack, Aelth is prepared for anything that comes her way, including battle-crazy nephews.
