About Prep X Math – Vol I by Sandeep Srivatstava:
Math is the easiest, yet the most powerful ‘subject’ to enhance your thinking, reasoning and problem-solving skills. And strong logical ability increases confidence.
This is a special book for securing 100% in CBSE X board exams, 2021, as per the revised CBSE syllabus till October 12th, 2020.
It is the ONLY BOOK of past papers and solution based on learning Outcomes and EACH QUESTION HAS A LOGIC AND SOLUTION. This makes the book the ONLY 100% SELF-LEARNING math book for X.
This book does not necessarily require the use of any textbook for concepts because the concepts are duly presented through LOGIC in every question that is answered in the book.
An advantage in Kindle e-books is that you can read nearly the first 40 pages of the book to experience the uniqueness of the book. And you will realise there is no other book like this one. Go ahead and look into the free-access pages of the book.
This book has 7 chapters of the 15 chapters and the Volume II, which will be published next month will have the rest of the chapters.
The unkindest cut of all
That conceptual clarity and marks don’t really walk hand in hand; rote and marks are better friends. Formal math education has violated the fundamental principles of ‘how we learn’ and robbed math of its basic character – strong logic.
The consequences have been devastating for humanity –
1. Overwhelming majority of girl students are left behind in math in elementary school – this is against nature
2. Overwhelming majority of boy students also leave math behind when selecting undergraduate options – reducing career options
3. Overwhelming majority of adults (teachers and parents) also suffer from math phobia – creating undue stress
To top it all,
1. Math is the language of the fast emerging Artificially Intelligent world – drastically chopping off career options for the vast majority of young adults
2. Math is the language of science – it’s being projected that by 2050s math will be to biology more than what it’s to physics for a few centuries – poor math hurts sci-tech careers too
3. Math is the architectural blueprint of research – even a ‘research mindset’ requires logic/reasoning/problem solving approach; such a mindset is always highly valued
The silver lining
Just as Artificial Intelligence – modelled using math – is getting to touch ourselves in an ever widening and penetrating way, we have readied all that’s needed to revolutionise math education!
It’s unnatural for a (human) child to be a ‘struggler’ in math
There is more to it – it’s impossible to create a ‘tough exam paper’ in math IF taught well! IF we really learn to read, think, write, see, act, and imagine in the language we call mathematics, EVERY one of us will excel in math!
How do we learn?
We still don’t know a lot about how we learn, but we know –
Learning ∝ Engagement;
Engagement ∝ Relationship
Indeed, relationship with math is important to excel in math!
Grade X math exam Prep
This is practically your last year of school education to close the foundational gaps in math – most important being ‘building a relationship with math’ – even if you pursue math in Grade XI.
This year we have not published the books with theory for all the chapters.
This is the exercise/workbook part of the X math book and is unique for the following reasons:
1. All the questions – past several year’s board exam questions, NCERT book and Exemplar questions are categorised in 84 concepts, not just 15 chapters
2. Thus, the most specific and actionable diagnostic is ensured to maximise your marks in the exam with just the right time and effort.
3. Every solution to CBSE past year’s questions starts with ‘Logic’ – states what the question is about (key to quickly get to the correct answer)
It is the logic part in the book that make all the content self-explanatory as well as 100% exam focused.
Just commit to work hard again, you will be proud!

Author Bio:
Sandeep is the first Indian and among the pioneering few in the world to pen a book – ‘Embracing the Net’ (by Financial Times, UK)- about the Internet before the first dotcom burst in 2000. Subsequently, in 2001, he wrote the world’s first book on e-governance – ‘Government@Net’ (by Sage, India). In 2002, he proposed ‘innovation as strategy’ in his third book, ‘The Bright Stuff’ (by Prentice Hall, USA).
After his success in the Information Technology sector, he turned to the education sector. In the two decades since, he has worked with several Indian schools across the globe. He dreams of reforming the education system, empowering parents to guarantee the overall development of every child, and helping create a world where every individual is truly educated!
A major step towards realising the dream has been to author over 100 books on maths, science, social sciences, school leadership, teacher training, and parent engagement. The math books have an added distinction – they are written in ‘popular genre’. To put things into perspective, Goodreads (www.goodreads.com) names just 397 “popular genre” math books, compared to over 1,00,000 names in the “popular science” genre. School math textbooks are grossly disappointing.
The most notable, however, has been the acceptance and presentation of six of his papers on quality of education in the 21st century at the 18th and 19th UNESCO–APEID International Conference in Bangkok.
Having homeschooled his only daughter and tutored her all through her board exams, the journey gave him unique insights into the challenges and demands of parenting and education in today’s day and age. As also the urge to write for all children of the world. However, all the textbooks are written for the family, not just children, because children need conversations to internalise things around them.
He received education at some of the most well-known institutes in India and abroad. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, M.Tech from IIT Delhi, and MBA from INSEAD, France. He had worked at international corporations like Citibank and Olivetti before setting off on his own path as an author, and later an entrepreneur.
Currently, he resides in Delhi but he has now set the world as his stage!
