Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have eight books published, but more on the way. The number is well above 10 by now.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest release was Break. It’s a M/M romance that’s part of The Studio Collection. It’s a sweet and sexy second chance romance. I love second chance romances and I knew when Scott first popped into my head that he deserved another shot at love.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I tend to write and drink coffee and listen songs on repeat. I have noticed recently that different characters tend to get different songs. When I was writing All For Him (coming soon) I tended to listen to Fight Song by Rachel Platten and Tompkins Square Park by Mumford and Sons.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Oh wow. This is hard because I read a lot of books and a lot of different authors. Uh…Dean Koontz first and forever. He made me want to be a writer in the first place. I love Alexis Hall’s style and it makes me want to improve my own voice.
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on several things. I finished the first draft of a M/M romance novel, so I’m working on those revisions. I’ve edited the final installment of The Stuido Collection. I’m starting a new series and I’m writing a new book. The series and the book are in the early stages, so I don’t really want to say much about them yet.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m not really sure there is one best method. What works for one book or one author may or may not work for another.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just keep writing. Don’t quit. Don’t get so bogged down in the daily business that you forget that you’re a writer first and a marketer second.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks. It’s the advice that propelled me to start writing romance. I was a writer, floundering, trying to find my genre and an author friend told me that. So I wrote a stepbrother book. Then another and another. Then I branched out into other types of romance. I’m still throwing things at walls.
What are you reading now?
Copious amounts of romance. Mostly M/M lately. The Collars and Cuffs series by K C Wells. I recently finished rereading the Cyberlove series by Meg Erikson and Santino Hassell and the Gaymers series by Annabeth Albert.
What’s next for you as a writer?
What’s next? More books. More M/M books. There’s some really sweet stories in my head that need to be told. Also more books with dogs.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Oh boy. This is a loaded question. I have many.
For Real by Alexis Hall
Honesty and The Summer Remains by Seth King are recent favorites
Tease and Denial by Joseph Lance Tonlet
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
They Cage The Animals At Night by Jennings Michael Burch
And there’s easily forty more that I haven’t mentioned. But those are my current favorites.
