Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a classically trained pastry chef, crazy cat lady, die hard romantic, horror lover, and chocolate snob. I also write sexy, magically influenced books. I’ve written 2 full length novels, countless short stories, and a flash fiction collection.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
SEX MAGIC, my latest book, was inspired by the oldest profession in the world – prostitution. In my research, I found it so interesting that cultures of long ago viewed women who sold sex as holy and honorable. In some cases even attaching a certain amount of divinity, to them and the work they do. Sex was sacred, and I wanted to write about it from that perspective.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
YES!!! I write at night. Like vampire, owl-time, night. I can’t help it – and I’ve tried, believe me, it’s a pain in the ass. But when the world is quiet and dreaming, I find inspiration and focus easier to grab a hold of. During the day I’m so distracted, but at night, THAT’S when the magic happens.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Hamilton, Briggs, Harrison, definitely. But also, King and Koontz.
What are you working on now?
The follow up to SEX MAGIC! Yeah!!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ll letcha know – I’m still a new author.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
See above 😀
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
In high school I had an astronomy teacher who told us that it was OK if we didn’t know what we were doing. That he didn’t either, and that no one really does. That it’s OK to change careers, and experiment. And that you should never feel locked, or trapped in any situation.
I try to live by that advice. I really try.
What are you reading now?
Right now I’m on a non-fic kick. I’m reading a bunch of author-y/small buisness-y/how to market and promote yourself books. Sounds fun right?
IT IS. THIS IS MY DREAM!
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll letcha know.
What is your favorite book of all time?
