From Farm Girl to Life-Changer: My Journey to Empower Women Like You
Growing up in a rural community near Chicago, I learned early that determination could break barriers. Back then, being a woman often meant your dreams were limited to marriage and motherhood, but I wanted more—I wanted to be a doctor. It wasn’t easy convincing others I was capable, but I pushed through doubts and expectations, armed with curiosity, resilience, and an unshakable desire to create a life beyond what others imagined for me.
My journey wasn’t a straight path. Before becoming a physician, I explored other careers, including psychotherapy. That experience opened my eyes to the deep connections between body, mind, and spirit. Then I discovered osteopathic medicine—a field that felt like it was made for me. It allowed me to blend science, compassion, and holistic healing into my work, helping people live better lives.
Now, as a physician, professor, and author, I’ve dedicated my life to empowering others—especially women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond—to embrace change and take charge of their well-being. Through my travels and studies, I’ve witnessed the incredible diversity and spirituality of the human experience, which has inspired my approach to health and healing.
My book, Aging Optimally: Essential Tools for Healing Pain of Body, Mind, and Spirit, and its companion workbook, are designed to help women like you rediscover your vitality, heal emotional wounds, and live with purpose. I also speak nationally to inspire others to change their perspective and take control of their journey.
Life is full of transitions, and I’ve learned that each one is an opportunity to grow, heal, and thrive. Join me in the journey of Aging Optimally—because it’s never too late to live the life you deserve.
