Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Ms. Alisha Jackson, MSW—a transformational author, prophetic voice, and visionary committed to helping others heal from emotional pain, rediscover their identity, and walk in their God-given purpose. I am the founder of Divine Warrior Life Coaching, Alisha Jackson Ministries, Alisha Jackson Academy, F.A.I.T.H. Connection Center, and A Better Life Publishing Company. Through my work, I blend faith, professional expertise in social work, and real-life experience to uplift those who’ve been overlooked or broken.
To date, I have written four transformational books, each designed to guide readers through healing, inner growth, and spiritual empowerment:
The Forgiveness Prayer Guide – A powerful tool to release pain, restore peace, and walk in freedom through forgiveness.
The Ultimate Emotional Healing – A faith-based roadmap to emotional wholeness, resilience, and renewed purpose.
I AM A Divine Warrior – A bold declaration of identity, authority, and inner strength rooted in God’s truth.
Overlooked to Overflow: How God Elevates the Forgotten – A deeply personal and prophetic message for those who’ve felt unseen and are ready to rise.
Each book reflects my passion for helping the Chosen Ones overcome trauma, embrace healing, and live in the overflow of God’s promises.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is Overlooked to Overflow: How God Elevates the Forgotten.
This book was inspired by the countless individuals—myself included—who have experienced seasons of being unseen, underestimated, or forgotten. It was birthed from a place of deep reflection, prayer, and a burning desire to remind the Chosen Ones that God never forgets His people.
What the world overlooks, God elevates. This message is for anyone who has ever felt abandoned, delayed, or hidden—because often, God is preparing us in private for a powerful public purpose. Overlooked to Overflow is a declaration of hope, healing, and divine promotion.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, one of my more unusual writing habits is that I pray before, during, and after I write. I don’t just sit down to create—I sit down to listen. I invite the Holy Spirit into the process, asking God to guide every word so it speaks directly to the hearts of those who need it. Sometimes I’ll pause mid-sentence if I feel led to reflect, worship, or shift directions. Writing for me is not just creative—it’s deeply spiritual. It’s a form of ministry.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Many authors and books have profoundly influenced my writing journey, but most importantly, the Bible has had the greatest impact on my thoughts, themes, and perspective. It’s not just a spiritual guide but a literary influence, inspiring the way I approach storytelling, character development, and even the message I wish to convey through my work.
Other authors who have been significant in shaping my craft include Shannon Evette, Tony Evans, and RC Blakes. Each of these voices brings a unique depth to their work that resonates with me. Shannon Evette, for example, offers insights into emotional intelligence and healing, Tony Evans emphasizes the power of faith and personal growth, and RC Blakes blends wisdom with encouragement, particularly for those seeking empowerment and transformation. Their teachings have helped me focus on the importance of hope, faith, and resilience in my own writing, as well as the significance of addressing real-world challenges with a positive, faith-centered outlook.
All of these authors, alongside the timeless wisdom found in the Bible, have collectively shaped how I view life and how I wish to communicate through my writing. They remind me of the power of words to transform, uplift, and inspire others.
What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m working on releasing three (plus more) inspirational, faith-based non-fiction books. Each of these books stands alone, with a unique focus aimed at equipping readers to live more empowered, purposeful lives. These works will guide individuals on how to renew their minds, prepare for acceleration, embrace the mindset of a winner, and become empowered for transformation.
What excites me most about these upcoming releases is the special pre-order pricing available before the full launch. I truly believe these books will help readers make powerful declarations over their lives and inspire them to step into the transformation they are meant to experience.
Each book has its own distinct message, but they all share the common goal of helping individuals live with faith, strength, and purpose. I’m so excited to release them and to see how they’ll impact the lives of those who read them!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
When promoting my books, I primarily start with my business website, DivineWarriorLifeCoaching.com, where I offer not only my books but also various resources for personal development and coaching. This site is the central hub for my work and allows me to connect more deeply with my audience.
Next, I utilize a pre-order site, https://authormsalishajacksonmsw.carrd.co, which is a fantastic, free tool for authors. This platform allows readers to get early access to my books at a special price before the full release. It’s an excellent way to build excitement around the launch, and I recommend it to any author looking for an affordable yet professional way to promote their books.
Depending on the need, I also list my books on Amazon, which is a great platform for wider visibility and sales once the book is fully launched. I find that a combination of these platforms helps me reach and engage with my audience in different ways, allowing me to create a well-rounded promotional strategy.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
My advice to new authors is simple: don’t give up. Writing a book can be challenging, but it’s so worth it. Allow God and the Holy Spirit to guide you throughout the entire process. Trust the journey, even when things get tough. Be patient with yourself and give yourself enough time for pre-orders, launches, and the whole process. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a successful book launch!
Also, remember to continue learning and growing. With every book you write, aim to improve on the last. Take time to study the craft of writing, marketing, and connecting with readers.
Most importantly, believe in yourself. If you’ve written a book, you are now an author. You have something great to offer others—whether it’s solving problems, offering healing, promoting self-care, sparking transformation, strengthening faith, or simply providing entertainment. Your words can make an impact and create lasting change.
Embrace your identity as an author, trust the process, and keep moving forward. The world needs your voice!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
My best advice to others comes from the principles I’ve learned through my own journey and the wisdom I’ve received from the Bible. Truth, accuracy, transparency, faith, hope, and deliverance—these are the foundations that I believe can help guide anyone through their own challenges.
The Bible has taught me that these values aren’t just abstract concepts; they are practical tools that can empower us in many forms, whether through creative expression, personal transformation, or overcoming life’s obstacles. It reminds us that our faith has the power to bring deliverance, that hope fuels perseverance, and that walking in truth and transparency allows us to connect with others on a deeper level.
For me, this is a reminder to always stay grounded in faith and to be transparent and accurate in everything I do, especially when creating and sharing my work. My advice to others is to trust in these principles and use them to help others, knowing that your words, actions, and creations can make a profound impact.
What are you reading now?
Right now, I am always reading the Bible. It’s not just a book to read once and move on from—it’s something that requires continual reading and rereading. Each time I go through it, I uncover new layers of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. The Bible offers a strategic blueprint for our lives, and I truly believe that the Lord provides specialized tools, secrets, and solutions to everything we face within its pages.
For me, it’s about relying on God and not man. Whenever I’m faced with challenges or need direction, I turn to the Bible. It never fails to provide clarity and guidance. There’s always something new to learn, something profound to apply, and it continuously reveals answers that help me navigate life.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Next for me as a writer is continuing to expand and deepen my work, both through the books I’m releasing and by exploring new ways to connect with my audience. I’m working on more inspirational, faith-based content that will further equip readers for personal transformation, healing, and empowerment.
I also hope to dive into new projects that combine practical guidance with spiritual insight—books, resources, and even programs that offer step-by-step tools for overcoming challenges and stepping into one’s full potential. Ultimately, I want to create content that not only inspires but also equips people with tangible solutions to navigate life with faith, strength, and purpose.
There’s always more to write and share, and I’m excited for the journey ahead, trusting that each project will help someone else find the hope and guidance they need.
What is your favorite book of all time?
My favorite book of all time is the Bible. It’s not just a book for me—it’s a living guide, full of wisdom, lessons, and truths that speak to every area of life. Whether I’m reading for spiritual guidance, personal growth, or inspiration, the Bible offers something powerful every time I open it. It provides a blueprint for how to live with purpose, faith, and resilience, and it’s a source of comfort and strength through every season.
Beyond that, I also appreciate books that inspire growth, empowerment, and transformation. But above all, the Bible remains the foundation that influences all the other books I read and write.
