About Animals and Angels
Vic’s idyllic Paris adventure has degenerated into a nightmare, leaving her picking through the rubble. One friend is dead. The other a killer. And Vic is kicking herself for bringing the two together. How did everything spiral out of control? At the heart of the tragedy is Vic’s fascination with her friend’s insatiable sexuality – so unlike her own serial monogamy. Yet Diane’s habit of playfully skipping from one hook-up to the next hides a dark shadow: a trail of secrets so toxic they can barely be mentioned. As Vic struggles to come to terms with her role in the tragedy, she evokes a story of envy and fear of missing out, along with some painful self-examination.
