Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Bruce A. Shields is an author of both science fiction and nonfiction, including the post-apocalyptic series Pandemic Dawn and his upcoming eighth novel, Losing Dani Strumm. He was born in Flint and has lived most of his life in Northern Michigan. When not writing, he spends time with his wife and their children.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Losing Dani Strumm was the result of a dream. It was quite elaborate and detailed, so I wrote everything I could remember from the night and spent the next two years writing.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write every day if that is unusual for a writer. Besides working on future books, I also write three ongoing series on Amazon Vella. One is a historical fiction set in the old west; another is about life after the apocalypse, and the last is a humorous series featuring Baron Von Munchausen.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen King, Piers Anthony, and of course the classics written by Asimov, Hubbard, and Wells.
What are you working on now?
I am writing the three ongoing series on Amazon Vella and my next science fiction novel about a man who discovers he is actually a clone.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This is yet to be discovered.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write your heart, even if you think no one is reading.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Love is worth far more than money.
What are you reading now?
On a pale horse by Piers Anthony.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Keep writing.
What is your favorite book of all time?
It is a tie between The Time Machine by H. G. Wells and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
