Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have one published bok – the first in the series, and two books coming out in 2024. The first is a 2022 NaNoWriMo project tentatively labeled “Out”. This will be a stand-alone urban fantasy/ fae story. The second is book two in the Prophecies of Angels & Demons trilogy.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My current book, Grave Secrets, is one that has been with me for many years. My two main characters Allie and Simon have been a part of my everyday life for long enough that I had to write them down on paper. I find myself asking “What would Allie do in this situation?” or “How would Simon handle that?” They are the crazy friends everyone needs in their life!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Is there such a thing as a usual writing habit? I write when inspiration strikes, whether that is at 2 pm or when I wake from a dream at 3 am.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
When I was in high school, I found the Graceling book series and fell in love with fantasy. The same year, I discovered The Mists of Avalon and went down the rabbit hole of Marion Zimmer Bradley’s Arthurian legends. It wasn’t until 2012 though, that I picked up a little-known author’s book called “Throne of Glass” and decided that if a recent college grad could make writing her full-time career, I could too.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on Grave Prophecies (book 2 of Prophecies of Angels and Demons), Out – a standalone urban fantasy book, and outlining Grave Revelations (book 3 of Prophecies of Angels and Demons).
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am a fan booktok. I enjoy making book promo videos and engaging with fellow authors and readers.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I think it’s the same advice that was shared with me:
Someone out there wants to read your story. Not everyone was meant to be a bestseller, but is that why anyone truly write a book? If even one person loved it, it was worth it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Same as above. LOL
What are you reading now?
I’m reading Haunting Adeline, Dark Fae, and Brutal Prince. (And yes in three formats)
What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to continue writing forever and ever.
What is your favorite book of all time?
That’s an impossible question. So many stories have made an impact on my life. If I had the space to list all my favorite books, it would be a long one.
