Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m an Indie author, and I have written many books, but only published two. My mysteries are inspired by true life events and happenings in or around my hometown. Notice I say mysteries, not murder! The murders are figments of my own imagination. I get large doses of inspiration at coffee shops. I love crafting quirky characters and writing about amateur sleuths and their unfortunate stumblings upon dead bodies.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent book is How to Kennel a Killer, and it is the 2nd installment of the Steely & Cuff Mysteries.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’d have to say my most unusual writing habit is I need background white noise. If I can’t pack up for the day and head to a local coffee shop, I use “coffee shop chatter” on Noisli.com with my Bluetooth speaker.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Jana DeLeon, Diane Mott Davidson, JB Lynn, Ann Charles, Janet Evanovich, Joanne Fluke, Charlaine Harris, and Rita Mae Brown.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on How to Fetch a Felon, my 3rd installment of the Steely & Cuff Mysteries.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Since I am a newbie Indie author, I am still building my audience and methods. Facebook and Instagram have been good for me. This is one of the first websites I’ve tried to promote.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I’ll pass on advice I once received from author Charlaine Harris: Never, ever give up.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Same as above.
What are you reading now?
Losing Your Head, A Charlie Davies Mystery by Clare Kauter,
What’s next for you as a writer?
Continue to pen the next 2 books of my Steely & Cuff Mysteries, and then, begin on my next series.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
